Apple
Inc., is a multinational corporation that creates consumer electronics,
personal computers, computer software, commercial servers, and is a digital
distributor of media content. Founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak created
Apple, Inc. together after dropping out of school and having their own personal
interest for computer technology. Among Apple's core product lines would be
their most popular and in demand creation yet which is the series of the iPhone.
The iPhone 6 Plus are the latest in the line of Apple phones stretching back to
the original in 2007. Year after year, release after release, they've grown
bigger and better. The iPhone 6 Plus includes a number of changes over its
predecessor including the retail price of the phone which ranges from $299 to
$699 depending on the memory. The iPhone 6 Plus is a model with a larger 5.5
inch display, a faster processor, upgraded camera, improved LTE and Wi-Fi
connectivity, and support for a near-field communications-based mobile payments
offering. Though there may be unalluring qualities as well, the overall
advancement of its new features greatly exceed the negative aspects of the
phone.
In
line with the latest release of the iPhone 6
Plus from
the iPhone series, here are the main features to guide the users or possible
users:
Design & Display
The Apple iPhone 6 plus sports the largest screen ever seen in the history of Apple phones being 5.5 inches long and having a 158.1 x 77.8 x 7.1 mm dimension. The extent of these measurements, however, make it almost impossible for it to fit in a standard sized pocket and difficult to use single-handedly which becomes frustrating for users especially in terms of multi-tasking. This phone is currently known as the best looking phablet (phone tablet) around compared to those of its biggest competitors like Samsung and Android. Apple designed it to have a 401 ppi pixel density giving it HD quality with great resolution fantastic for watching videos and viewing pictures. Although the iPhone 6 Plus may have an aluminum body with rounded sides and corners, it is still prone to bending in a person's pocket if heavy force is applied as it only weighs 172 g which could both be an advantage and disadvantage. Compared to the iPhone 6, it also has no enhanced resistance to liquid or dust which requires users to be cautious in handling the gadget as it is quite sensitive to external forces. Its design and size could be difficult to adjust coming from a standard sized phone, but the screen resolution and quality display definitely make up for it.
Camera
The
iPhone 6 Plus has
improved in two significant ways: improved focus and optical image
stabilization. It doesn't lose focus even in a
dark environment. In addition to that, the image stabilization provides a nice
improvement on the sharpness in low light which Apple also used to reduce the
noise in the photo which produced better images. Despite these improvements,
Apple has correspondingly changed the JPG processing engine and dramatically
reduced the contrast in the photos. In short, the iPhone 6 Plus improves on two
of the most significant aspects of the camera quality that gives it better
results in low light but at the same time make missteps affecting the contrast. However,
these changes in the features of the camera are dependent on the iOS of the
phone whether it's updated or not.
Battery Life
Battery Life
One of the best new features of the iPhone
6 Plus compared to the iPhone 6 is its battery life. An avid Apple user even
complimented it on its long battery life. Apple quotes 14 hours of video
playback and 80 hours of music. “We managed more
than three hours and 45 minutes of high intensity 3D gaming, which is exactly
the same as the Galaxy S5, but is a full hour more than the iPhone 6.”
(Kyperos, 2015). But when used with full brightness or when playing games, the
battery will drain faster because the iPhone 6 Plus does have a better
resolution than the previous iPhones. There is also no power saving mode so
once the battery is low, there’s
not much to stop the inevitable power drain.
Call Quality
Apple's iPhones
have always had impressive call quality. Their iPhone 6 Plus supports HD Voice,
making the call sound smoother and clearer. According to a loyal iPhone user,
the 6 Plus has a louder speaker compared to the previous iPhones. This comes
from the HD Voice since it increases the range of signal that the iPhone can
transmit or carry. With this feature, more of your voice is transmitted to the
other end of the phone call, blocking out the unnecessary background noise and
providing you better call quality. Other phones don’t
support HD Voice and limit you to a certain range of signal resulting in rough
and choppy phone calls. The iPhone 6
Plus also supports more carriers, meaning it can switch from a network call to
a WiFi call without charging your monthly phone bill.
Conclusion
Although
the premium price of the iPhone 6 Plus is one of the major drawbacks for the
phone, its new features and offers tend to justify the price. The sensitivity
with external forces, excessive decrease of contrast in cameras, lack of power saving
mode and its large size have been part of the disadvantages that this phone
possesses. Its large size has been one of the key factors in deciding between
the 6 and 6 Plus and it is subjective depending on the user causing it to be
impractical for others. With the spectacular performance of its camera, call
quality, screen resolution and battery life, the positive aspects of this phone
tend to outweigh the negative ones causing this to be one of the most potent
product of Apple.
