Sports? Maybe not.

Regrets are made when we are not able to do things we wanted. Or, things we have done but never wanted to do. These make us contemplate on our actions and think what could've been if we've done otherwise. One thing I regret is not having to be involved in sports. I like accomplishing things while staying in one position, but I wonder who and what I could have been doing if I did. I do enjoy playing sports and not suck at it, but I never got too interested.

Most of the people who are sporty have been playing since they were young. I consider this as one of the main reasons why I never got into it. Growing up, I focused more on my studies, family, and friends. I only realized how much physical activity I've been missing in eighth grade. All my friends and family have their own sport to play and I've got none but digital arts and my studies to keep me company. I still play with them, of course. Got into a little bit of cheerleading concepts through my cheerleader friends, and insights from others on how they manage their time.

Contemplating upon this, it doesn't seem like I lost so much experience and fun. With my accomplished research and opinions from sporty (rather, friends who are in the varsity team), they spend all day and night in school and their training venues. Doing homework and other school projects lack attention and time. Less focus is being given to school and there are certain people where they always need to be at training to never miss a thing. They go home tired and exhausted as well. Having a sport isn't always so bad. It's got some perks too. You get to be more active and fit. Health risks are also minimized through regular exercise.

I realized how not being able to be sporty isn't so bad at all. I get to focus on school, my family, friends, and other opportunities that might come as time passes by. I get to maximize my time for school work, rest, and other social events that I may attend to and have time to enjoy. If I do get into a certain sport, I would give it time and not let it interfere with my current schedule. I'd play when I have time and would feel like I'd enjoy doing it. As of now, my priorities will be focused on, and by far, none of those include sports.

Maybe not being sporty isn't so bad after all. I get to relax and have more time to excel in my academics and enjoy other extra curricular activities.
